GERMAN BENAVIDES

German Benavides was born in the small town of Boyacá, Colombia where his parents discovered a great artistic ability at an early age. As a child he was encouraged by his parents to take after school art and drawing classes. After graduating from high school he left for Bogota, Colombia to pursue his dreams of becoming an artist. He attended the art institute of Bogota for design and also studied architecture at the University of the Andes.

 

Although he always had a passion for art, it became his hobby once he moved his family to the United States in 1995. After owning and operating a successful contracting company he is now able to pursue his lifelong passion for painting. Abstract art is where he finds that he can best express himself but he is always exploring his abilities and stretching his imagination.

 

He currently resides in South Florida where he continues to work hard at accomplishing his dreams.
